‘Gordon Setters with Game, End of Day’
He was a London painter and picture restorer. His work included sporting scenes, animals, genre ad landscapes. However he was best known for his painting of sporting dogs. Like his contemporary, John Emms, he painted with a strong brush stroke, often on a large scale. Breach’s palette however was softer and his depictions of canine facial expressions particularly sympathetic. He was successful during his lifetime, exhibiting at the RA and 30 works at the Royal Society of British Artists.
