Marcel Arnaud was a French impressionist painter of landscapes, still lives and portraits. Born October 8th at Marseilles and died March 18th at Aix-en-Provence.

Arnaud’s formal art education started at the School of Fine Art at Marseilles. He went on to further his education at Paris and it was there that he found his niche in art decoration.

Later in life he returned to Aix-en-Provence and became a professor and later principal of the School of Fine Art there. He was also curator at the Granet Museum from 1917 to 1947.

His work was featured in the collective exhibition “Au Fil de l’Eau: Provencale (Going with the Flow: The Provencal School) at the Museum of Tapisseries in Aix-en-Provence.
