Edward Hersey - British - Born 1948
Pair of oil paintings on board, Dutch winter scenes with figures skating on a frozen lake.
Edward Hersey was born in Surrey and went to Archbishop Tenison's Grammer School in Croydon. He initially worked in the jewellery trade before turning to art as a profession in 1982. He is a self taught artist who spent his formative years in Southern England, with its varied landscape, abundant farm buildings and livestock, all of which provide the subjects of his instantly recognisable work. His meticulous attention to detail and lighting has seen him become one of the most highly sought after artists in his field, who has forged a strong and loyal national and international following. Today he lives in the West Country where he has his home, a converted brink, flint and brick barn and studio.
