MOORE, GEORGE BELTON (1806–1875), painter and drawing-master, born in 1806.  He was drawing-master at the Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, and at University College, London. In 1851 he published 'Perspective, its Principles and Practice,' and 'The Principles of Colour applied to Decorative Art.'

He exhibited 32 works at the Royal Academy, at the Suffolk Street, British Institution and elsewhere in London, and also in Glasgow, Dublin and at the Suffolk Fine Art Association.  His work was mostly in watercolour, sometimes with gouache applied. His oils are quite rare.  He spent much time in Italy, particularly in Venice.
