An early 18th Century George 1st walnut chest of drawers, the top with quartered matched veneers and inverted ogee moulding, the carcase with twin ovolo mouldings, top and drawer fronts with crossbanding and herringbone inner bandings, English Circa 1725.
Secret locking mechanism in the top two outer drawers.
A good early 18th Century usable chest with some old restoration: Veneer patch to top, later handles and escutcheons, replacement bracket feet, replacement bottom drawer base lining and replacement back boards.
In country house condition, some missing moulding and chips.
