Short & Mason stormoguide barometer, patent No.407451, 1932 in walnut / mahogany case with silvered instruction plaque. The engraved dial shows weather indications and has a rise and fall indicator window.
The instrument has been tested and set to ambient (true) barometric pressure. To display approximate sea level readings (as used by the weather forcast) move the plate at the rear of the instrument to the altitude where the instrument is situated (e.g. Gloucester Airport is 101 feet elevation)
These large barometers were for shop, office, home or horticultural use.
