Large antique brass holister pistol by Jover and Son.

Scarce brass barrel and frame. Long 6 inch octagonal barrel with white metal sight. Square frame with percussion cock/hammer in good working order. The frame is engraved Jover and Son London with martial trophies and floral decoration. Walnut slab sided grip with plain silver escutcheons. Complete with fitted ramrod. Barrel has several proof marks. The pistol dates to about 1795, at some stage it was then converted into a percussion pistol as many were, size almost 12 inches long or 29cm. A very impressive large pistol.
